1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide the Platform, including:

• Account information such as your name, email address, and mobile phone number
• Recovery-related information you choose to provide, such as surgery type, recovery stage, goals, and check-in responses
• Journal entries and messages you create on the Platform
• Billing information processed securely by our payment processor (we do not store full card numbers)
• Basic technical data required for authentication and session management

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Platform and your recovery experience
• Send you the notifications and text messages you have opted into
• Process your subscription and billing
• Respond to your requests and provide support
• Protect the security and integrity of the Platform

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. Text Messaging (SMS) Privacy

Consent.By providing your mobile number and opting in — in your account notification settings or on our sign-up page — you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Dude2Dude at that number. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies.

What we send.Recovery goal and check-in reminders, peer meetup reminders, milestone celebrations, buddy-message alerts, re-engagement nudges, and account & billing notices. You choose which categories you receive in your notification settings.

How mobile information is used and shared. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in and consent information with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used solely to deliver the Dude2Dude messages you have opted into, and is only processed by our messaging provider (Twilio) as needed to transmit those messages on our behalf.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from Dude2Dude texts at any time. You may also turn off text messages in your account notification settings. After you opt out you will receive one confirmation message and then no further texts unless you re-subscribe.

Help. Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at support@dude2dude.com.

Rates. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Dude2Dude is not responsible for carrier charges.

4. Journal Entries & Check-Ins

Your personal journal entries and daily check-in responses are private and visible only to you. Aggregated, de-identified data may be used by Dude2Dude to improve the Platform and community experience. Get Your Bearings entries are stored privately to your account, are never sold or used for advertising, are not used to train any AI model, clear automatically after 30 days, and can be deleted at any time from your dashboard.

5. Service Providers

We rely on a limited set of service providers to operate the Platform: Supabase (data storage and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Twilio (SMS delivery), Resend (transactional email), and Anthropic (the AI assistant behind Get Your Bearings). These providers process data only as needed to perform services for us and are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing purposes.

6. Cookies

The Platform uses essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or behavioral tracking cookies.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we remove your personal data from our active systems within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.

8. Data Security

We use Supabase for secure data storage. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices & Rights

You can review and update your account information, manage which notifications and text messages you receive, and delete your account at any time from your account settings. To request access to or deletion of your personal data, contact us at support@dude2dude.com.
